Emergency Preparedness at its best

Okay, I don't want to completely make light of those who have suffered the wrath of Hurricane Ike, but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this picture on KHOU.com (a local Houston news station)...

I love the rope around the car and tied to the tree. As if the tree would be strong enough to keep the car from blowing away if the winds really were blowing that hard. I think the guy was more than likely guaranteeing that the tree would fall on his car. At least he tried.

orried about flooding, not so much about winds. In that case, the car might float some, but stay close by. As if it would be driveable once the floods recede. Mark's car flooded last summer to above the drive seat cushion. He sputtered it around the block once a day until he could finally drive it to work a week later, though it kept dying at red lights for another week....
