A taste of Ames

For Christmas we decided to head back to warmer country down in Texas, but along the way we decided to stop in Ames and check out our new home town. This is what we saw...

Snow, snow, and more snow. Can you say brrrrrrrr?

This may not be the best picture of Ames, but let's just say that this was more snow than I have ever seen in one place at one time in my life. I know, I have led a sheltered life, haven't I? I am a warm weather girl. I can't help it. It also wasn't very comforting to read that last week they had a day where the high was -10! That's Fahrenheit! Yikes! I see a snow blower in my near future.

So, what's the lesson here? Don't ever tell Heavenly Father where you don't want to go because he has a way of teaching lessons through personal experience. It's a good thing that Robby's aunt promised that the warmth of the people would out weigh the frozen climate, 'cause I know my soul is going to need some warmin' in Ames!

You'll just have to take a 2 week vacation to TX every Christmas!
