Catch-up... August

Well catching up August is pretty short and sweet since almost all of the pics I have from this month have Baby Boy in them, so I can't post them.  Keep your fingers crossed that he will be able to appear on this blog soon.

The littlest princess of the house.

First day of school!

Yes, we may have an aspiring MIT student.  Funny thing is that some of  the kids thought his shirt was for Mitt Romney.

One more year till Olivia gets to join in the fun.

Waiting for the bus...

And off they go!

Catch-up... The rest of July

So it's harder than I thought for me to blog several days consecutively.  But, here are highlights from the rest July...

(Oh and Baby Boy is in the behind the scenes in most all of these pics.)

My birthday... the kids each gave me a type of candy.  Yum!

Natalya turned 2!

She needed a baby to care for just like Mama.

Nothing like trying to eat the whole loaf in one bite!

Stanhope, IA's annual Watermelon Festival -- a family favorite!

All you can eat watermelon!

Okay, so I'm not sure if posting these and thinking about the lovely summer temps is theraputic or depressing.

Catch-up... 4th of July

I count this as remarkable, two days in a row that I have had time to post a blog.  Back in the middle of summer we had a great time celebrating 4th of July with Linley and Kjell's family.  First we enjoyed fireworks on July 3rd (what I heard was that somebody in the city was not on top of things and didn't schedule a pyrotechnic company early enough to get a show on July 4th, oops!)  We arrived early to ensure we had a good spot.  Here are all the kids, minus our two youngest who were going to bed...

The sparklers were lots of fun.  They were always one of my favorites as a kid.

The next morning we all met up to watch the annual 4th of July parade.

As you can tell, lots of fun was had by all.

Fun, except when the big loud band scared Natalya.
But, we were all smiles again moments later.

And you can't forget the candy.  That's the whole reason the kids even want to go to the parade.
