An Absolutely Hilarious Blog

I just came across this blog, and have been laughing my head off at some of the posts (yes, I broke one of Abbie's blogging rules about not looking at blogs of people I don't know, but this blog was a great find!) Anyway, if you want a good laugh check it out. I have been randomly selecting posts from this blog and reading them for the last hour (it's almost midnight - I need to go to bed!):

I recommend reading her first post (back in June), and you will understand where this all came from. I have read some really great posts from July and August, too.

My trip to North Carolina

I had an enjoyable trip to North Carolina this past weekend to see my Aunt Carla Jean and cousin Joanna. The weather was lovely, and it was a good few days of relaxation. I told my mom that I want to do annual Mommy-daughter vacations.

Here we are together. (Joanna, my Mom, Aunt Carla Jean, and myself)

Please help yourself!

Sorry for the diaper pic, but I had to show you what Jenna did by herself. In the mornings when Jenna gets up, one of the first things she askes for is milk. Most of the time she gets it right away, but sometimes I am doing my best to get things ready for Robby to get off to school on time, in which case I ask her to wait a minute. Apparently, this didn't suit her, and so she decided to help herself to the milk. I had always dreaded this moment, because I knew it would come, and I had visions of a gallon of milk being spilled all over the floor. Well, I was quite impressed because she got the milk out, found a receptical to pour some in (it wasn't a cup because I needed to empty the dishwasher - instead it was an old bottle without the lid from the back of the cabinet), and poured some milk with only a little spillage. And let me tell you, was she proud of herself!

Here she is enjoying her prize.
And no, I am not going to encourage her to do this again anytime soon because I still dread finding a gallon of milk on my floor.

A Budding Artist

Jenna has just started to draw things and tell us what they are. It's fun when kids get to this age and you can see their little minds at work.

Here we have Jenna's flowers. Jenna drew this while I was gone in North Carolina visiting my Aunt Carla Jean. Robby said that he liked the fact that she added stems to all of the flowers.

And this is Jenna's snake. Also drawn while I was gone.

One thing I find really interesting is that while I was gone last week Jenna apparently didn't ask about me at all. Well now that Dad is gone this weekend in Indiana, Jenna has asked for him several times and even gotten a little upset that Dad wasn't here. What's up with that?! Yeah, I'm feeling the love. I guess she's just a Daddy's girl! To make me feel better though, Little Robby told me that HE really missed me while I was gone. So Robby can have a Daddy's girl and I will have my Mama's boy, and we'll all be happy!

Just Like Brother

With school in full swing, Jenna's desire to be just like brother and go to school has not diminished. Each morning he gets ready for school, loads up his backpack, and puts on his helmet to ride over to another boy's house for carpool rides. And many mornings Jenna has to do the same...

So here you go... Robby's ready for school,

And so is Jenna!

Conveniently, Jenna gets to play with Robby's old bike helmet since he got a new one after falling off his bike, hitting his head, and chipping one of his front teeth (that happened about a month ago.) We were told by a guy who saw the fall that his helmet saved him from having a really bloody face. He did come away with scrapes on all four limbs though, and one trip to the dentist for a filling to replaced the chipped part of the tooth.

"Amu-lick"

So here's our funny moment of the week... When we have family scriptures, Jenna is usually bouncing off the walls. We do our best to keep her corralled, but we usually read right before bedtime and she is quite often loopy. I have decided that children her age have the uncanny ability to pay attention even when they don't appear to the paying attention. So we were reading about Alma and Amuleck in the Book of Mormon, and when Robby mentioned Amuleck for the first time a light bulb went off in Jenna's head. She started saying, "Amulick! Amulick!"

"Yes, Amuleck!" we replied and kept on reading.

Jenna ran to the toy cabinet in search of something, and returned a moment later exclaiming again "Amulick! Amulick!" and carrying... Mr. Potatohead's tongue! (Get it, "Amu-lick!")

Of course we all cracked up! Now, I will never be able to read that part again with out smiling a little.

This is our tribute picture to "Amu-lick!"
